Sylvia Haskvitz

SYLVIA HASKVITZ, MA, RD, author of Eat by Choice, Not by Habit, is a registered dietitian since 1983 and certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication since1989.



Sylvia combined her work as a dietitian and the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) process to help clients focus on their emotional needs and their bodies’ needs at the same time.

In Minneapolis Sylvia developed the nutrition component of Fairview Hospital’s first in-patient eating disorder program, and the Weight to Go program at the Northwest Racquet and Swim Club. She has served as a private nutrition consultant for corporate wellness programs and individuals on issues concerning cholesterol, weight loss, diabetes and nutrition education. She enjoys offering healthful cooking classes and tea/breakfast & empathy.

Sylvia’s essay, “Enemy Images” was published in the book, Healing Our Planet, Healing
Ourselves. Her monthly column “Finding the ‘Right’ Words” is published by Tucson West Publishing.

Linda Prout

Linda Prout, MS is a recovered overeater, nutritionist and author of Live in the Balance, the Ground-Breaking East-West Nutrition Program. She developed the nutrition program at the Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkeley California and now consults for Six Senses Worldwide Spa. Linda spent the past 6 years researching Mediterranean diet and fats while living in Turkey. Her next book will be about use of traditional fats in cuisine for health.



Her speaking audiences include Meeting Planners International, Kaiser Permanente, The World President’s Organization, Ernst & Young, Lockheed Missiles and Space and numerous hospitals and physician groups.

Linda goes beyond food recommendations and helps clients shift energy patterns that keep them stuck in destructive behaviors and illness. Linda provides email Nutrition and Energy therapy programs and workshops to clients internationally.
