Trainer Tip: Let's start an abundance movement! We get great joy from contributing to others lives and allowing them to contribute to ours, let's not let fear get in the way. Trainer Tip Sometimes I’ve believed as many assix impossible things before breakfast.—Lewis Carroll How many times in a day do we stop ourselves from asking for what we want because we are sure it is impossible? Think about times when you wanted something but were afraid to ask for it. Maybe you wanted a friendship to evolve into a partnership, or you were sick and wanted someone to bring you food, or maybe you wanted your boss to consider you for a promotion. Now think of a few times when you wanted something that you thought was impossible, but you asked for it anyway and got it! Those moments bring such joy, don’t they? We need to know what we want before we can ask for it and then receive it. I suggest we start an abundance movement, where we all know in our hearts that there is enough love, support, acknowledgment, and resources for everyone to meet their needs. If we meet someone who doesn’t want to help us meet our needs, then we find other creative ways to meet them. In this abundance movement, we concentrate on meeting our needs, and we don’t get stuck on particular strategies. If one person doesn’t want to date us, we know we will find someone who will. If one person doesn’t have the time or desire to deliver soup when we’re sick, we’ll find another way to feed ourselves. If we want more responsibility at work, we will find a way to expand our career. We don’t stop there, though. In our new abundant world, we value everyone’s needs as much as our own. We no longer try to meet our needs at another’s expense. Doesn’t this sound exciting? This movement already exists. It is called Compassionate Communication! Make an effort today to value everyone’s needs andnotice the abundance in your world. This trainer tip is an excerpt from Mary Mackenzie's book Peaceful Living, available from PuddleDancer Press.
