Karl Steyaert is a community catalyst, passionate about co-creating learning experiences and communities that contribute to peace, justice, and sustainability. With over 20 years of experience facilitating groups, Karl has helped transform conflict and catalyze learning in settings ranging from corporate boardrooms and university classrooms, to ecovillages and community gardens.

Karl is a Certified Trainer and Assessor with the Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC), and leads trainings in conflict resolution and communication across North America, Europe, and Asia. He learned of Restorative Circles from Dominic Barter beginning in 2007, and has studied NVC Mediation with Ike Lasater and John Kinyon.

Karl’s academic training includes Cultural Anthropology (B.A. Dartmouth College; M.A. University of Michigan) and Environmental Policy (M.S. University of Michigan). In addition, he practices and shares ecovillage design, Permaculture, aikido, meditation, and yoga.
