Mika Maniwa is a Japanese Canadian certified trainer based in Vancouver, Canada. She has been teaching NVC and leading practice groups for over 15 years. She shares the relational language of NVC with information about our nervous systems to help people cultivate more self-compassion, resilience, and warm community. She has been exploring how NVC can be used to share power and address issues of social location and racialized trauma to support stronger relationships between people within organizations.
As a master of violent communication, she is constantly learning how to be NVC without the jargon. She enjoys working with multicultural groups in both working-class and middle-class contexts and is interested in what is needed to create safety and trust between people across power differences.
